What is Australian Motorcycle Tours?
Managers: Australian Motorcycle Tours is a Company that is affiliated with Motorcycling Australia (MA), set-up and owned by Rob Colligan and his partner Judy. Rob has been riding road bikes since he was 16 years of age and has missed only one GP, due to illness, since 1990 and Judy has been a "Motorcycling Widow" and "Pillion in a Million" in that time. Together they and the staff of Australian Motorcycle Tours want to give you a hassle free holiday on your bike that is unique in all of Australia.
What do we do? Australian Motorcycle Tours is a business that caters directly to the Motorcycle Owner (& their partner as the case may be!) who wants a great trip, without the organisational hassles and problems that can arise. Australian Motorcycle Tours takes care of the accommodation, your fatigue (So you don't suffer any) and the activities (depending on the trip), provide a back-up support vehicle, carry your luggage for you and certain emergency supplies. We do not supply Motorcycles. But we will point you in the right direction to find one.
Insurance: Every rider on our tours is covered by MA's Rider Insurance Policy. The very same one that covers racers in Australia.
Emergencies: All our staff are St. Johns First Aid Trained, and we carry excellent communications equipment for times of serious emergency (We do plan on never using them.)
Distance: Our rides are lazy 300-400km days, with 3 & 1/2 Star to 5 Star Accommodation awaiting you. This allows for sightseeing and relaxing that a true holiday should include. For those that want to go a little faster, we include a Track Ride Day in some of our Tours.
Accommodation: Our accommodation is looked after by a broad range of establishments. From comfortable but basic Pub rooms, to 5 Star Luxury resorts... there is an "Australian Motorcycle Tour" to suit all budgets and tastes.
Fuel: On all of our tours, we take care of the fuel stops.Tthe payment of the fuel is NOT included in the tour price.
Meals: On all of our tours you will get Breakfast at the accommodation place you stay at each night. Morning tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner are available at a variety of places and we will happily indicate our regular haunts. The meals range in standard as well... from Pub Style Counter meals, Sandwiches & Fruit on the roadside to Gourmet Restuarants.
Activities: On all of our Fishing, Golfing and Winery trips, we have arranged the activities and the equipment required. From Fishing Guides to Golf Clubs... it's all included in the price of the Tour. On all other tours, we allow for tours, ferry rides and other activities that are available at your cost.
The Fine Print: As with most things, we reserve the right to modify a trip or activity due to circumstances beyond our control. Most of our activities are seasonal and our planning will centre around this factor. We will need a minimum of 4 riders for most trips, but will cater for the single rider if so required. At all times our clients safety is of paramount importance to us. As such, we will endeavour to supply you with the best and safest motorcycling journey we possibly can, but you need to be aware of the following...
